Our History
Kaspi International School (KIS) is a pioneering international school of the Kaspi Education Company, one of the leading education organizations in Azerbaijan. For more than ten years, Kaspi Education Company has been committed to providing high-quality education and supporting the development of young people across the country.
Today, Kaspi Education Company has established 28 education centres, including two private schools, three local kindergartens in Baku, one local kindergarten in Sumqayit, 11 centres across Baku and Absheron, two centres in Sumqayit and Ganja, and nine local representations in different regions of Azerbaijan. Building on this strong educational foundation and proven track record, Kaspi International School was established with a vision to provide children with a high-quality international education while remaining deeply connected to Azerbaijani culture, values, and traditions.
Kaspi International School provides a safe, caring, and stimulating learning environment for students from Toddle (age 2), Primary 1 (P1, ages 3–4) through Primary 7 (P7, ages 9–10), as well as students in the Middle Years Programme (M1–M5).
From the very beginning, we have been committed to developing the whole child. Our students are encouraged to develop strong social-emotional skills, critical thinking, creativity, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities, preparing them to become confident, compassionate, and internationally minded citizens.
At KIS, children are active participants in their learning rather than spectators. They are encouraged to ask questions, explore ideas, investigate, experiment, and discover knowledge alongside their teachers, who act as guides, facilitators, and learning partners. We believe that meaningful learning happens when children are given the opportunity to be curious, take thoughtful risks, make connections, and learn from both their successes and challenges.
Our IB Journey
Kaspi International School has been implementing the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum since 2021. In 2024, the school became an IB World School authorized to offer the Primary Years Programme (PYP), marking an important milestone in our development as an international school.
Building on the success of our PYP journey, KIS is now an IB Candidate School for the Middle Years Programme (MYP). This represents our continued commitment to providing a coherent, challenging, and internationally recognised educational experience for our students as they progress through the school.
Our IB journey reflects our belief that students should develop not only academic knowledge, but also the attributes, attitudes, and skills needed to become lifelong learners and responsible global citizens.
Beyond the Classroom
At KIS, we believe that education extends far beyond the classroom. Our students are encouraged to discover their talents, pursue their interests, and challenge themselves through a wide range of academic, creative, technological, and sporting opportunities.
Our students actively participate in academic Olympiads and competitions, including mathematics Olympiads and other subject-based challenges, giving them opportunities to apply their knowledge, develop perseverance, and experience the excitement of intellectual discovery.
We are also proud of our students' participation in robotics and STEM competitions, including RoboFest, where they develop computational thinking, engineering skills, creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities. These experiences allow students to transform ideas into practical solutions and develop the confidence to innovate.
Sport also plays an important role in school life at KIS. We have successfully established football and basketball teams, providing our students with opportunities to develop teamwork, discipline, leadership, resilience, and a strong sense of school spirit. Through competitive sport, students learn not only how to strive for success, but also how to respect their teammates and opponents, celebrate achievements, and learn from challenges.
Whether participating in an Olympiad, designing a robotic solution, playing on the football pitch, competing on the basketball court, performing on stage, or exploring a new area of interest, our students are encouraged to challenge themselves, discover their strengths, and grow with confidence.
Looking to the Future
As Kaspi International School continues to grow, our vision remains clear: to provide an education that combines academic excellence, personal development, international-mindedness, and a strong connection to Azerbaijani identity and heritage.
We want our students to be proud of who they are and where they come from while developing the curiosity, empathy, knowledge, and open-mindedness to understand and contribute to the wider world.
Our history is built on continuous growth, innovation, and a commitment to our students. Our future is shaped by the same values — strong roots, open minds, and bright futures.
